Paula Hewes, 71, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main St., Keller.
Paula Ruth Grumbles Hewes was born Aug. 29, 1946, in Palestine, daughter of the late Dr. Leland C. and Helen Battle Grumbles. She was a graduate of A&M Consolidated High School class of 1964 and earned her B.B.A. degree from Texas A&M University, class of 1969. Prior to her marriage to Cecil Hewes III, Paula worked as an accountant at Texas A&M University. She married Cecil at First Baptist Church of College Station in 1972 and together they reared two children, Michael and Jennifer.
Paula and Cecil moved to the Keller area six years ago and before that lived in The Woodlands for 25 years, where she was a member of The Woodlands Christian Church.
Paula was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Anderson; parents, Dr. Leland C. Grumbles and Helen Battle Grumbles; brother-in-law, Jake Dameron; and sisters-in-law, Kathleen Hewes Hammond and Margaret Hewes.
Survivors: Husband of 45 years, Cecil G. Hewes III; son, Michael Thomas Hewes and wife, Beth (Zimmerman); daughter, Jennifer Hewes Anderson and husband, Scott; grandsons, Sean and Luke Anderson; sister, Jane Dameron; brother-in-law, John C. “Jack” Hammond; four nieces; four nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
