She loved to tell the story of how James escorted her to Oakhurst Elementary School on her first day at school. She was an honor graduate of Carter Riverside High School; a graduate of Brantley Draughon Business College; an executive secretary for 38 years, employed by Thos. S. She also served as Business Manager for the US Department of Defense USO Shows to Europe and Asia.
After retiring in 1994, James and Peg McMahon fulfilled their dream by moving to their 4J Cattle Ranch in Tennyson, Texas, residing there for eleven years. She and James moved to San Angelo in 2004 and back home to Fort Worth in 2005.
