Penelope Mayfield of Arlington, Texas passed away on Jun 20, 2022.
Penny Parker Mayfield
Born: June 11, 1950
Born into eternity: June 20, 2022
Penny was born in Dallas on June 11, 1950 to L.W. Parker Jr and Mary Imogene Alexander Parker. Penny was raised in Grapevine, Texas and as the baby of the Parker family, she was definitely doted on by the whole community. Penny called Grapevine her home for most of her life with the exception of a brief stint in Pecos and a recent move to Arlington, where she finished her time here on Earth. Penny was very proud of her roots and made sure that she and William Hudson, raised their girls, Carrie and Casey, in Grapevine.
Penny graduated from Grapevine High School and moved on to get her undergraduate degree from TCU. After graduating, she began her career as a middle school educator. She enjoyed teaching but also found a real passion selling Grapevine real estate with Century 21. After real estate, Penny was able to use her creative skills when she led the catering division for Willhoite’s Restaurant. At Willhoite’s, she met the love of her life, John Mayfield. John and Penny married in 2001 and have been best friends their entire relationship. John and Penny got married in Mazatlán, Mexico which quickly became their “happy place”.
In retirement, Penny enjoyed helping her family while they raised her grandchildren. Her favorite days were the days when she got to keep the grandkids and do the behind the scenes work of raising a family.
Penny is preceded in death by her parents, L.W. Parker Jr, and Mary Imogene Alexander Parker, sibling Jane Parker Shafer, and son Patrick Mayfield. Penny is survived by her husband, John Mayfield, children Carrie Espanet (Tye Espanet), Casey Hege (Kyle Hege), Jennifer Holley (Beau Holley), James Mayfield, son-in-law Jerry Menchaca, siblings Jean Parker Bowen and Phil Parker (Jeannette), grandchildren Kayley, Gabe, Mia, Hudson, Charlotte and Brooks, nieces and nephews Jennifer Shafer (John Robertson), Brian Shafer, Eric Parker (Tracy Parker), Jason Parker (Jennifer Parker), Dustin Parker (Alicia Parker).
