On Friday, August 19, 2022, Perry Lafford Howell III, loving husband, father, son and brother passed away at age 63 in his home in Grapevine.
Perry was born on January 22, 1959 in Dallas, TX to Perry Jr. and Shirley (Harliss) Howell. He graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas. He enjoyed many successful years in the office supply business.
On June 24, 1990, he married Loretta Diane Barnett. They raised her daughter Wendy and their son Colin.
Everyone who knew Perry was well aware that his passion for baseball was all encompassing. He played as much softball as possible and was a little league coach, commissioner and umpire. He passed the love of the sport to his son and many other boys. He also drove many loads of Boy Scouts on camping trips and combined that with his love of creating gourmet campfire breakfasts for the Scout Leaders. He was known for his acerbic wit, his love of history and science, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Loretta, children Wendy, Colin and his wife Jayme (Thompson). Also, his stepmother Wanda Howell, sister Stephanie, brother Philip and his wife Lindsay as well as many extended family members, and numerous friends.
A celebration of his life will be held in September at his home in Grapevine.
