Austin resident Peter J. Schaub passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at the age of twenty- four.
SERVICE: The family will receive guests at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas, on Sunday, April 14, between 6 and 8 pm. His funeral service will be held at Cross City Church First Euless Campus, 1000 Airport Freeway, Euless, Texas on Monday, April15, at 2 pm, followed by interment at Grapevine Cemetery.
Peter was born August 2, 1994 in Irving, Texas to Paul “David” Schaub and Susan Holland Schaub. He graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School in 2012 and earned an Associate of Arts from Tarrant County College in 2014. He briefly attended the University of Texas, deciding in 2016 to pursue a career in wholesale real estate in Austin. Peter’s passion from a young age was rock climbing. In high school he took up the sport and eventually became part of the elite Team Texas rock climbing team based in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. He climbed competitively with the best-of-the-best. When he moved to Austin, it became his desire to extend that team spirit, and started a youth rock climbing team, which he coached. People whose lives he touched, including students, rock climbers, fellow coaches, and professional real estate colleagues, recognized his drive and determination in everything he did. He brought joy, peace, and love to those around him and those he served.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his parents, David and Susan Schaub of Grapevine; his brother Neil, and sister-in-law Dalila Schaub of Arlington; his brother Grady Schaub, his sister Natalie Schaub, and his brother Benjamin Schaub, all of Grapevine; his grandmother Barbara Holland of Grapevine; his grandfather and wife Paul and Shirley Schaub of Edmond, Oklahoma; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Ruth Schaub and his grandfather David Holland.
