Philip John Harris passed away peacefully at the age of 61 in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday November 6, 2020, following a valiant battle with COVID-19, complicated by cancer.

Phil is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Viveanne Harris and loving son Philip Harris, daughter Sara Burtonwood, grandchildren Olivia, Jamie and Samantha Harris, brother Martin Harris, sister Susan Harris and many extended family members.

Phil enlisted in the Royal Corps of Signals, British Army, where he served 17 years primarily in the UK and Germany, most notably as a Sergeant at the Army Apprentice College, Harrogate, England. After leaving the British Army, Phil earned the Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Social Work Studies from the University of Salford, England.

Phil was always and forever passionate about his family but equally applied himself throughout his second career to fighting for families with disabilities in the UK, British Army, and later in Texas. Phil and Viv moved to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, in June 2010 where they helped with the raising of their three grandchildren and Phil also continued his service in Social Work.
