Philip Louis Vest

Philip Louis Vest, 62, of Argyle, Texas, passed away on August 11, 2023. He was born Dec. 16, 1960 in Alice, Texas to Lou and Margaret Vest.

He attended high school in Mandeville, LA and then graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in finance. He spent a career in the finance industry starting out in banking. He then worked in mergers & acquisition at EDS, several investment and hedge fund companies, and finished up at Charles Schwab.

Phil could at times be a workaholic. In lieu of that, however, he had the privilege to travel the world to destinations such as Columbia, Japan, Spain, and other parts of Europe. This transformed him into a die-hard soccer fan. When he wasn’t working, he would visit the Grand Cayman. He loved scuba diving, and for many years could refer to the islands as a second home. He was a loving father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lou and Margaret Vest.

He is survived by his son Philip Louis Vest, Jr., brothers Steve Vest and Rick Vest, sisters in law Melinda and Sherry Vest, nieces Briella Vest and Sarah Vest, and nephews Connor Vest and Bryce Vest.
