Phyllis passed away Monday April 13, 2020.

Since her physical journey on earth has ended, it’s just the beginning for new footprints in heaven with the Lord. Phyllis was kind, loving and generous. Anyone that knew her understood the devotion and love of her family and to the Catholic church. Mostly volunteering for the NEED store, Meals on Wheels and being a member of Catholic Daughters. Phyllis was always willing to help people in need. Suffering for years with severe dementia, this ultimately took her from us. Now her body and soul are at peace. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Phyllis and miss her immensely, but are elated that she is finally with her love, Donald.

Phyllis relocated from Sharon, Kansas to Fort Worth in 1957 after travel throughout the US. She finally settled in Fort Worth with a position at American Airlines, where she met and married Donald Lightfoot in October 1961. Part of their journey and passion was traveling the world together. They were married 51 beautiful years before his passing in 2013. Together they had 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, George Schreiner; her mother Elizabeth Schreiner; her husband, Donald Lightfoot.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Durant of Weatherford; son in law, John Durant; daughter, Theresa McDonough of Southlake; son in law, Travis McDonough; grandchildren, Jeffrey Chaney, Stephany Chaney, Elizabeth Chaney, Rylie McDonough, Sara McDonough; great grandchildren, Matthew Chaney, Bethany Ferguson, Kathryn Ferguson, Harley Whitley, Jurney Whitley; siblings, David Schreiner and his wife Roxann, James Schreiner and his wife Ann, Olivia Goemann and (preceded by) her husband Patrick, Danny Schreiner and his wife Elaine, Julie Pennock and her husband Wayne; including hundreds of cousins, nieces and nephews; and many more extended family and friends.

A private family funeral will take place on Friday April 17 at Lucas funeral home in Grapevine, Texas. Immediately following will be a burial. A future memorial will be planned later this year to celebrate the life of Phyllis Ann Lightfoot.
In lieu of flowers we are asking to have a Catholic Mass read in her honor
