Phyllis Jean Seviek

RICHLAND HILLS -- Phyllis Jean Seviek (Bradfield) passed away at the age of 89 on November 7, 2018.
Graveside Service: 10:00 am Monday, November 12, 2018 at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth.
Visitation 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 followed by a prayer service at 3:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst.
Phyllis, a native of Marion, Indiana, moved to the Dallas area with her mother and three siblings after graduating high school. Chosen for her pleasant-sounding voice, she worked as a telephone operator for 7 years until her marriage in 1954 to Henry, whom she met at a local dance. Phyllis devoted herself as a homemaker to her four children, and was exceptionally involved in the care and upbringing of her grandsons. She was a founding member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and School in 1965, which her children attended. Phyllis loved and adored her entire family, which was the central priority of her long life. She was adept at sewing and enjoyed making numerous dresses for her daughters. With her husband, she worked to sponsor Henry’s extended family to emigrate from Czechoslovakia to Texas. Phyllis was an avid reader and spirited Scrabble player who enjoyed actively watching gameshows and following the Texas Rangers.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Seviek, and brother, James Bradfield. She is survived by her children: Nancy Schwartz, Joe Seviek and wife (Theresa), Linda Kinnel and husband (Charles), and Charles Seviek; grandchildren: Jeffrey Schwartz, Michael Schwartz, and Katherine Kinnel; sister, Carol Yanowski; brother, Edward Bradfield; and many other extended family and friends. She will be profoundly missed.
SERVICE: Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 followed by a 3:00 pm rosary at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, November 12, 2018 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth.
