Quirico C. Lambino, peacefully passed away on 16 February 2021 in his favorite chair at home in Texas. Rico was a happy person who loved to crack jokes every chance he got so his family is grateful that this happy countenance was marred by pain at the time of his final departure. He was diagnosed with late-stage cancer 2 months ago.
A loving and supportive father, he took extreme pride in having 4 daughters, Grace Melton, Gemma Lambino, Gynna Chavez and Ricah Llanos, all professional nurses who added to the family; equally supportive sons in law Tod Melton, Aniano Chavez, Jr. Gerardo Llanos, and gave him wonderful grandchildren, Jaffrey, Miko, Faith, Noah, Matthew and Angel.
A dedicated son and brother, he is now happily reunited in paradise with parents, Maximino Estrada Lambino and Eugenia Caberto Lambino; siblings, Antonina Vinluan, Bienvenida Dalayoan and Juanito Lambino. His only surviving sibling, Teresa Bautista joins the family in celebrating a life well lived for her brother.
Rico graduated from the far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree major in Business Administration. It was there where he met his first wife, Lilia Gonzales. After graduation, he worked in the same University as staff at the EDP Department. Rico and Lilia were eventually divorced but remained good friends and supportive co-parents to 3 daughters. Since he was the kind of guy who deserved a second chance at happiness, he later met and married Natividad Tolentino.
Motivated by his desire to provide a better life for his family, Rico went to Saudi Arabia to work as a payroll officer for the Philippines Singapore Ports Company sometime in 1978. Those years of extreme loneliness in a foreign country far from his loved ones is a testament to his selfless devotion and love for family.
The family would like to thank everyone who offered prayers and support at the time of Ric's illness and the difficult process the family went through, due to the pandemic, to claim his remains and have him properly prepared for cremation.
Those who would like to bid Rico farewell are welcome to view his remains at the Lucas Funeral Home, 700 W. Wall St., Grapevine, TX on 28 February 2021, 1-3 pm to be followed by funeral services at 3 pm. Please wear face masks and observe safety protocol during the wake and service.
