R.D. Russell

September 15, 1932 — August 16, 2023

Robert Doyle Russell, resident of Fort Worth, formerly of Granbury, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Brookdale Tanglewood Oak at the age of 90 years.

Robert Doyle Russell was born in Glen Rose, Texas to John Robert and Hattie Russell. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Army. He received an honorable discharge. Doyle retired from Bell Helicopter and enjoyed traveling in the US in his RV or spending time with his family. Doyle loved cars and was especially fond of his Cadillac.

He was always even tempered, respectful, private, and with a witty, joyful reply. Having traveled all over the US and many places in the world, he had a knowledge about many things, yet was always down to earth with whomever he spoke with. He was also a member of The Chalk Mountain Masonic Lodge No 894.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Elaine Russell, his son, Rick Russell, grandchildren, Tabitha Russell (and spouse Amber Windle Russell), Breanna Bishop (and her husband), great-grandchildren Morgan and Mykenna Windle, and the Bishop great-grandkids, as well as his brother Joe Russell (and his wife Jean), and his sister Adina Russell and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Lester Russell, Grandson JR Russell, and parents John and Hattie Russell.
