Hurst-Ralph Statum, a loving husband, father and friend, also known as Owen, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the age of 81.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., this Friday at Castleberry Church of Christ in River Oaks, TX. Inurnment at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
Ralph was born November 13, 1934, in Gorman, TX, to Ralph and Inez Statum. He grew up in Fort Worth, graduated from North Side High School and studied at TCU before he joined the U.S. Air Force. When he left active duty he continued serving as a reservist (until he retired from the military) as he worked for American Airlines and retired after 23 years. Ralph had a good sense of humor and was generous with helping people. Ralph never knew a stranger, loved to tell jokes. He loved his family and his little dog Leo. He will be missed until we see him again in Heaven.
Survivors: His wife Barbara, daughter Donna, son Bruce, brother Max and his wife Marilyn Statum, nephews Tim Statum and Bryan Bailey, niece Lisa Bailey, great nephew and great niece Garrett and Scarlett and many other nephews and nieces.
