Ralph Timothy Zimmerman, age 58, of Roanoke, TX lost his brief and very brave battle with cancer on Sunday, October 13, 2019 in Grapevine, TX.
Ralph was born on February 15, 1961 in Cleveland, OH to Ralph and Beverly Zimmerman. The middle child of five, he grew up in Duncanville, TX where he played high school sports, and later went on to study drafting. However, Ralph spent the majority of his career in the towing and recovery business driving a wrecker, and assisting local law enforcement agencies. When he wasn’t working, he found relaxation in taking long rides on his motorcycle – carefree with the wind in his hair. He loved playing golf, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Stars. He adored his daughters, and he was always their biggest fan at their sporting events.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 23 years Audra, daughters Rachel and Hayley, brother Robert, and sisters Lori, Cheryl and Kimberly. He is also survived by his canine kids Wolfgang and Pearl, many extended family members, and a plethora of friends he thought of as family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Beverly Zimmerman in 2002.
Ralph will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. He lived his life with a warmth and a genuineness towards everyone he met. He brought laughter and joy to those around him, and he had a fierce loyalty and love for his family.
A visitation is scheduled from 6-8pm on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX. The family will conduct a private burial.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Baylor Scott & White Hospital and Vitas Hospice for taking such good care of Ralph in his final days.
Ralph’s daughters have established GoFundMe accounts for personal donations. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates any assistance in covering the cost of his care.
