Randy Baker

April 24, 1991 — October 1, 2024

Beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Randell Evan Baker, with his beautiful brilliant mind and gentle soul, superlative wit and stubborn spirit passed peacefully on the morning of October 1, 2024 at the age of 33. He lived one year and one month from his diagnosis of Lymphoblastic Leukemia, fighting with all his might every step of the way. Randy was born on April 24, 1991 at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Denton schools, graduating from Denton High School in the Class of 2009. He and his wife, Julia Regan Baker, married in June of 2018 and settled in Haslet, TX. They welcomed their beautiful daughter, Amelia Lily Baker in August of 2022. Randy was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness, a keeper of secrets and giver of wisdom. His loyalty was boundless. He loved freely and to a fault and in the end his heart was strongest. His immense intellect and his unmatched humor never left him even in his hardest moments. Randy enjoyed hiking, camping, gardening and being outdoors from the earliest years of his life. He was an asset in every room, willing to jump in and help, encourage, or trouble shoot any puzzle. He was an excellent cook and often combined his way of fixing old things and creating new things in recipes, hands-on hobbies, and technological interests. He traveled the world and the country and often encouraged others to experience the world to the fullest. He was an artist and creator in every way. He was a million good & beautiful things that words could never fully describe. Above all, he took indescribable pride in being a father. It was by far his greatest accomplishment and joy. In his final days, he was surrounded by his adoring wife who never once left his side, his mother who devotedly stood beside him everyday of his battle, his sisters who deeply cherished him along with family and friends who revered him. It was beyond evident that this was a deep comfort to him and we would like to extend a personal debt of gratitude to every person who loved Randy so well in those moments. He is survived by his young daughter Amelia Baker [2] and his wife of 6 years, Julia Baker of Haslet, TX, his parents Tammy & Keith Litchfield of Simms, TX, younger sister Emily Litchfield of Hazel Green, Alabama, oldest sister and brother-in-law, Jess & Justin Harper of Aubrey, TX, a nephew and two nieces, Dillon, Landry and Sutton Harper, grandparents Leo & Donna Dunn of Grapevine, TX, Dan & Celeste Underwood of Fort Meyers, FL, Barry & Sandy Litchfield of Canyon Lake, TX, and grandmother Jessie Fielden of Oceanside, CAHe was far too young and too good to have his journey end this way. Nothing in the world will ever make it fair or just. There are no words to make it make sense why he can’t be with us anymore. A parent is not supposed to watch their child pass, his daughter should not have to be without her father. It is not the natural order. But, it was a gift to have been known and loved by Randy, for all who did. He will remain with us always and we know that every time we look into the eyes of his precious daughter, we will see his. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday October 11, 2024 at 5pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX. A special Sunset Ceremony will follow at Grapevine Lake Mariner’s Point at 6:15pm Please come with memories, stories or photos to share. Hearing your favorite moments or anecdotes about Randy with each other and with the family will be the focus of this memorial. Randy would have wished us to find joy in his life rather than sorrow in his passing. The family suggests that those who wish to express sympathy consider the gift of a living plant in honor of Randy’s love of gardening and outdoors may be made in lieu of flowers. We want to add an additional mention of immense gratitude to all of those who loved on Amelia, Julia, Tammy, Jessie and our entire family so greatly in these last many days. Every one of you who offered support and action, daily prayer and reminders of love. We have felt so taken care of without need to do anything. You all allowed us to love him by seeing him through the end and there are no words to say thank you enough for that.
