Randy Scott Jackson Sr.

Randy Scott Jackson, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, September 18 at the age of 71. Randy was born on November 21, 1947 in Everett, Washington to James and Carol Jackson. He was initiated into the Lutheran faith by his parents on April 4, 1948. Randy was raised in and around Kennewick, Washington where he attended school and played football. In high school he was known as a very fast runner and loved all sports.
In January 1966, Randy joined the United States Marine Corps. He was a rifleman and served in combat in Vietnam. He was stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam where he was trained in Land Mine Warfare and Demolition. Randy was a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps and served in Force Recon. He earned two Purple Hearts, the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
During his service in the Marine Corps Randy was stationed in Texas where he met Margaret Beaird in 1976. They married in 1977 and had a son, Randy Scott Jackson, Jr. After he left the Marine Corps Randy worked as a truck driver for several different companies. He retired and moved to Worthville, Kentucky where he lived until his passing. Randy will be known for his love of sports, especially football and the New York Yankees, his love for the Marine Corps and the military, and his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Cindi.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, James Alexander Jackson, mother, Carol Delight Hendrickson Jackson, stepfather, Harlan Clymer, and stepmother, Gracie Jackson. He is survived by his son, Randy Scott Jackson, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Cindi Jackson, of Wheeler, Texas. He is also survived by his brother James Jackson of Worthville, Kentucky, sister Shelia Durham of Lebanon, Oregon, sister Merry Carol Clymer of Spokane, Washington, and brother, Thomas Clymer of Lacey, Washington.
Randy will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery today with military honors.
