Raquel Wyatt Odell

On November 16, 2021 Raquel Wyatt Odell, 53 years of age, passed away from Covid complications. She was born in Texas City, Texas on December 28, 1967 to parents, Joe and Nita Wyatt.

Raquel graduated from Trinity High School in 1986 and graduated from The University of Texas Austin with a Bachelors in Business/International Business in 1990. Raquel married Billy Odell of Euless, Texas on February 7, 1998 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

She worked several years in the Trucking and Telecommunications industry before finding her passion for teaching. She became an Inclusion Teacher for Fort Worth ISD and worked at Eastern Hills High School for the last 14 years. Raquel helped many students achieve their goal of graduating and preparing for their adult life. She took great pride in helping others in life. Raquel’s pride and Joy was her daughter Chloe. She was a great mother, teacher and friend to Chloe throughout her life. She was an avid Texas Longhorn fan and rarely missed a game. She had a thirst for reading and learning and loved to go on vacations. Two of her favorite places were Lake City, Colorado and Maui, Hawaii. She was an active member in Kappa Delta sorority and spending time with friends old and new.

Raquel was a force of nature in life and lived and loved her family limitlessly. She loved the Lord and followed her faith daily in life. Being a wife, mother, friend and teacher was her passion and that made us all better. She will be missed every day. She loved us all and we loved her back.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Wyatt; brother, Danial Wyatt; and her beloved grandmother, Hazell Gary.

Raquel is survived by her husband, Billy Odell; daughter, Chloe Odell; mother, Nita Moore and husband, Ray; sister, Amanda Moise; brother-in-law, Dan Moise; niece, Charlotte Moise; nephew, Ethan Moise, her beloved French bulldog, Clarence; numerous extended family members, and a host of coworkers and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 2, 2021 also at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
