Raymond Dale Gent, 77, of Euless passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Bedford, Texas.
FUNERAL: A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, 02 July 2017, at Martin United Methodist Church in Bedford, Texas, with the Rev. Terre McGill officiating. Internment at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery will follow at a later date under the direction of Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas.
Ray was born in Long Beach, California, to the late Raymond S. and Anna S. Gent. He graduated from Chamblee High School in Decatur, Georgia. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Master’s Degree from Georgia State University. Ray served as an officer in the U.S. Navy for nine years. He was a long-time member of Martin United Methodist Church in Bedford, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Betty Ann (Hines), his parents, and his brother Carl D. Gent.
SURVIVORS: Daughters: Leslie D. James and her husband Terry James of Watauga, Texas, Suzanne V. Logue and her husband Robert Lance Logue and grand-daughters Kylie E. and Hannah F. Logue of Clarksville, TN; nephews Darren Gent of Phoenix, AZ, David Gent of Roanoke, VA, Scott Gent of Atlanta, GA, niece Laura Gent-Felker of San Francisco, CA; four great-nephews and three great-nieces.
