Raymond “Scott” Worley, 61, of Watauga, Texas, passed away February 16th 2023, at home surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous 4 year battle with colon cancer.
Scott was born August 16th 1961 to Raymond and Marguerite Worley. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1979. On May 21, 1988, he married Lisa Dianne Mahanay. Together they made their home in Watauga, Texas raising their two children, Whitney and Kelly. Scott spent 24 years working for Xerox before being laid off. He later found work at Keller ISD as a distribution technician and part-time at Gateway Church NRH campus in the facilities department. Scott was an active member of Milestone Church in Keller, Texas. He was an all-around family man and was a proud and loving “Poppy” to his two beloved granddaughters, Paisley and Lyla.
A memorial service is scheduled in his honor for Saturday, March 18th 2023 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 S Main Street Keller, Texas at 2 p.m. In remembrance, the family is asking guests in attendance to wear either Scott’s favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys, shirts/jerseys or classic rock concert tees.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marguerite; infant brother, Rodney; and mother-in-law, Patricia Mahanay.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lisa Worley; daughter, Whitney Newman and husband Scott; son, Kelly Worley and wife Mandie; granddaughters, Paisley Worley and Lyla McAdams; sister Joann Worley, sister Ramona Steed and husband Tony; sister Janet Jones and husband Mark; brother Jackie Worley; father-in-law, Eddie Mahanay; brother-in-law, Scott Mahanay; 10 nieces and nephews; as well as a plethora of friends.
The family wants to express their heartfelt thanks to the pastoral teams with Milestone Church and Gateway Church, especially Pastor Unni Hubert for her dedication and friendship to Scott during his cancer journey.
