Reba Barreda

Reba ‘Kaiya’ Joyce Barreda, 84, of Granbury, TX, passed away on March 6, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Reba was loved and surrounded by so many and never met a stranger. Her faith in the Lord was her focus throughout her life. She was the most generous and giving person one would know. She never met a stranger. Her love for her family and others is what she will be remembered for most.

Reba was born on June 28, 1940 in Temple, TX, the daughter of Lydia Hubenak Walker and Earl Walker.

Reba graduated from Temple High School in 1958. Then attended community college in Temple Texas. After College Reba worked as an executive secretary most of her adult life.

In 1960 she married Donald Strahan. They welcomed Tobi Donnell in September of 1962 and Jennifer Lynn in 1970. Reba married Bill Barreda on may 13,1987. They were married for 38 wonderful years. Bill adored Reba and throughout their marriage made sure she had everything she needed and that she wanted for nothing. They built a strong business together which was eventually handed down to Bill’s son, Billy, who has kept the family business going throughout the years. Later in life, when Bill developed dementia, Reba returned the favor by taking care of his every need and making sure he was happy and healthy, standing by his side every day.

Reba loved to shop and go out to eat, was an excellent cook, loved her family and especially loved her animals and everyone else’s around her. She took in stray cats and dogs and loved them as if they were her children. She was constantly staying in touch with her loved ones and would talk to her daughter, Tobi, on the phone multiple times a day, even if it was just to let her know that she was thinking about her.

Reba was a follower of the Catholic church and was very strong in her faith, preaching and witnessing to strangers and being a Christ-like example to friends and family up until her final days of life.

Remaining to cherish Reba’s memory are her husband, Bill; children, Tobi and husband Jim, Billy and wife Misty, Stefanie and husband Tony, Mickey and wife Carol, Cindy and husband Les; grandchildren, Chace and wife Haley, Jennifer and Husband Chris, Landon and Levi. Great grandson, Maddox, Great granddaughters, Hermoine and Hadley. Nephew, Alan and wife Susie

Preceding Reba in death are parents, Lydia and Earl Walker, daughter Jennifer Lynn Strahan, brother Ray Relf and Nephew Eddie Relf.

Funeral services will be held on March 21, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX with Director, Mark Lucas Kelly officiating.
