Born Oct. 11, 1912, in Bridgeport, Reba grew up on the family farm in Cottondale and attended school in Paradise. She married Jesse Thurman Drennan on Aug. 26, 1938, and shared his life until his death in 1999. Throughout her lifetime, Reba enjoyed being involved in PTA activities, volunteering as a nurse's aide at Harris Hospital, gardening, making new friends through Book Club participation and the North Fort Worth Women's Club, and watching TCU football games. One of her great talents was making other people feel special and happy. No one enjoyed a good belly laugh more . . . even to the point of happy tears.
A former homemaker extraordinaire, Reba's skills in the kitchen were envied by her friends and enjoyed and appreciated by her family. As a seamstress, she was superb, whether creating clothing, dance/band/theater costumes for her daughters, or curtains to perk up a room. A brief stint as an Avon Lady was fun but still didn't compare with devoting herself to her husband, children and grandchildren.
In addition to her beloved husband, Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Clara Coffman; an infant daughter; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors: Her children, Diane Griffin and Donna Jean Howard and husband, Mike; grandchildren: Kurt and wife, Rebecca, and Wade and wife, Allison; great-grandchildren, Joe, Scott, Nick, Luke, Caroline and Olivia Griffin; numerous nieces and nephews; and especially Edith, Reba's faithful caregiver, who has so lovingly helped us care for her over the past five years.
