Rebecca Elizabeth Scott, 49, passed away at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Becky was born on July 7, 1974, in Albany, Oregon, and adopted at age 6 by Sharon and Bob Haggard. Her family, which included a biological sister and later an adopted brother and sister, lived in Grand Prairie, Texas. As a student at Lamar High School, Becky excelled at soccer having played since second grade. She graduated from Lamar in 1992.
Becky loved her family and never missed an opportunity to get together with them on any occasion. She was affectionately known as “Aunt B” by her nieces and nephews and other sweet children.
After a 15-year career with Southwest Airlines, Becky returned to school at University of North Texas to pursue a second career as a Special Education teacher. She graduated from UNT in 2020 and sadly wasn’t able to walk her stage due to COVID. Following graduation, Becky taught Special Education in Gainesville for one year, and Birdville ISD for two years. She loved her “babies” at school and thoroughly enjoyed teaching.
Becky is survived by her daughter Emma Elizabeth, and her first precious grandchild due in November, mother Sharon Willeford, brother Keith Haggard and his wife Michelle, sisters Melissa Stoddard, Kristina Haggard, Kerrie Scott and her husband Scott, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by her father Bob Haggard.
A Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider a donation in Becky’s name to Saving Hope Animal Rescue
