HURST -- Rebecca Parker Thompson, 87, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Private interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Memorials: May be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 852 W. Bedford Euless Road, Hurst, Texas 76053.
A native of Greenville County, S.C., Rebecca was born May 13, 1927, to Alvin and Vinnie Slatton Parker. She grew up in Canton, N.C., and graduated from Canton High School and Cecil's Business College in Asheville, N.C. She and George were members of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class and were blessed to be part of the St. Paul family.
Survivors: She was the loving wife of 65 years to George; dedicated mother to Elaine Champagne, Randall Thompson and wife, Diane, Joyce Thompson; loving grandmother to Russell, Laura, Valerie, Amanda, Chris and great-grandchildren, Elise, Blake, Austin and Hayden Rebecca; loving older sister to Virginia Clark; other loved ones Joe DePaso, John Gabriel, Amy Friar and many nieces and nephews.
