Rhett Hudson Halstead

03/05/1999 – 06/13/2024

Rhett Hudson Halstead or as some remember him to be “Scooby” was a fun-loving person; and to others he was an onery boy looking for the next adventure and laugh. Rhett was raised in a very supportive family. Gary and Christa insured that they always made happy memories. Rhett made sure that those around him were always included in his making of happy memories. Rhett and his dear friends were a moving force in many of Keller’s sports. Rhett learned to be a comfortable traveler, enjoying his and others success stories on and off the fields. He was blessed with talent and experienced many successes of his own on the baseball field. He learned that he could dream big and in doing so he began his own journey to self-discovery.

Rhett began making memories at Heritage Elementary School. He later acquired many more friends at Chisolm Trail Intermediate, Timber View Middle School and Timber Creek High School. Rhett was awarded scholarships to Garden City Community College in Kansas and to Master’s University in California for his baseball playing skills. Rhett supported his community in his mentoring of others while playing baseball. He graciously and with humility led his team mates to wonderful victories on and off the field. Associations such as: the Dirtbags, the Cobras, FCA, and the Keller Aces truly have many memories of Rhett and his friends playing on their baseball diamonds. While relaxing from baseball, Rhett enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Be it hanging out online playing video games or shooting hoops with the boys, Rhett was the person to include because of his charismatic ability to make anyone feel their worth. Rhett enjoyed going to the lake, fishing and being outside. He enjoyed range shooting, football, writing, and listening to all genres of music. He also enjoyed cruising in his Mustang and riding his motorcycle. Swimming, the beach (all water sports). Rhett took pride in his self and always looked good. And Rhett always came home to love on Zeke and keep him exercised.

His integrity and values for a life well lived was instilled in him by his ever-supportive parents, Gary and Christa Halstead. You could not find a more loving and memory making crew than the Halstead 5. Gary and Christa taught Rhett the importance of being strong in the face of adversity, the importance of humility and accountability. Rhett displayed these qualities time and time again during his life. As a young boy, Rhett knew he was loved by many. This safe environment allowed Rhett to challenge himself to become a responsible person. Rhett had a zest for life and was a good big brother. His bond with Rhegan and Preston will remain unmatched. He forged many strong friendships and relationships as he transitioned into the adulting world. Rhett will be greatly missed by his Parents- Gary and Christa Halstead, his little sister – Rhegan Halstead and his little brother, Preston Halstead, Grandma- Donna Halstead, and Courtney Brooke, his one true love. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will miss Rhett too. It is the desire of the family to continue remembering Rhett and allowing the memories to live on. Teaching each other that Life is precious, and it is to be cherished always.

Rhett has been greeted by Tex (their dog), Grandparents-Sandy Glasgow, and Gary Halstead, Sr. to enjoy Gods promises of eternity in heaven.
