Rhonda Monette Young Guidry, age 76, of Brown County, Texas was called home to be with The Lord early Wednesday morning, January 23, 2025 as she entered into heaven to see the face of her Savior and to be with her loved ones who had gone before her.
Rhonda was born on April, 28 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Bob and Pearl Young and although she is and will be deeply missed, the Godly legacy she leaves behind will never be forgotten by her children, Joe Guidry, Mark Guidry and Julie Hatley.
Rhonda fiercely loved her family, both her immediate and extended family and Rhonda truly loved people and people loved being with Rhonda, but above all else, Rhonda loved The Lord and the love of The Lord was shown through her loving, kind, compassionate and caring attitude towards all who knew her.
Rhonda grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Paschal High School and shortly thereafter, she went to work for the Browder Oil Company, but her employment didn't last long, as she soon met my dad, Joe Guidry. They were married on February 16th, 1968 and their marriage until his death on February 14th, 1995.
Soon after marriage, Rhonda and Joe began the start of their family with the birth of their son, Joe, followed three years later by their second son, Mark, and then ten months later with the birth of their daughter, Julie.
Rhonda was a stay-at-home mom and if you asked her, she would tell you that is all she ever wanted to be as her family came only second to serving The Lord. She was extremely involved with her children's activities, whether it be PTA, carpooling, football, baseball or soccer. However, her most important role was that of a Godly Wife to her husband and a Godly Mother to her children as she laid the foundation for what it meant to serve the Lord as she could be found teaching children's church, attending a bible study, working vacation bible school, keeping the nursery or singing in the choir as Rhonda was faithful in her Christian walk and this was exemplified throughout the entirety of her life as she loved the lived to serve The Lord.
Rhonda is preceded in death by parents, Bob and Peral Young, her first husband, Joe Guidry and her second husband, Johnny Walker.
Rhonda is survived by her son, Joe Guidry and wife Joni of May, Texas; son, Mark Guidry of May, Texas, and Daughter Julie Hatley and husband of Dallas, Texas: grandsons, Colten Guidry of May, Texas, Cody Guidry of May, Texas and Holden Kiene of Highland Park, Texas; sisters Gemetha Carter and husband Albert of Mansfield, Texas, Vicki Peters of Fort Worth, Texas, three "sisters by other misters", Linda Gavin and husband John of May, Texas, Jan Steppick and husband Donnie of Joshua, Texas, and Madge McClelland and husband Joe of Cleburne, Texas; along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
