Richard Russell Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on December 12, 2023. Rich was born on April 5, 1979 in Oak Park, IL to L. David Johnson and Crystle Johnson. Growing up he excelled in sports and academics. He was a highly regarded middle linebacker at Trinity High School in Euless, Texas and graduated with honors. He later received his bachelor’s degree from University of North Texas. He carved out a successful career in the internet advertising/paid search optimization field and held titles of Director and Vice President at various companies.
Rich was a natural leader who was quick witted, intelligent, and empathetic. He has an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up a room. Compassionate and loved by all who knew him, he never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a huge sports fan and could not be more passionate about his beloved Cowboys. Above all, Rich was a family man whose wife and children meant the world to him. Rich was one in a million. He was the perfect blend of strength, humility, intelligence, and empathy with an unquenchable passion for life driving it all. He would give you his last dollar, the shirt off his back, and all of his attention when you needed it. The world is a dimmer place without him. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, great uncle, friend, and colleague to all that knew and loved him.
Rich is survived by his Wife, Melissa Johnson, and three Children, Brady, Delaney, and Emily. His Father, L. David Johnson, Sister, Tricia Johnson, and Brothers, Leonard Johnson and David (Bailey) Johnson. Dennis and Jane Thompson. Heather and Jamie Knapp. Nieces and Nephews, Ashley (John) Scott, Becca (Zack) Mize, Mariah Johnson, Logan Johnson, Kaylee Knapp, Kyle Knapp, Alyx Johnson, and Nathan Johnson. Great Nephews, Osbourne Scott and Rory Swanson. As well as, numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by 2 sets of grandparents, his mother, Crystle Johnson, and his aunt, Barb Hill-Dulski. Celebration of Life to be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas.
