Richard Lee Boone

January 4, 1938 — July 23, 2020

Richard Lee Boone age 82 of Euless Texas passed away at home on July 23, 2020. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Richard was born Jan 4, 1938 in Wichita Kansas and raised in Amarillo Texas. From an early age Richard loved the feeling of speed which included dragsters, police cars, ambulances and boats. He started his racing adventure in Amarillo Texas and secured several championship titles. He later relocated back to Wichita Kansas for a short time where he met his wife Clare Jean Larrick. They raised their family in the DFW metroplex and enjoyed a devoted marriage of 53 years. While racing he started his lifelong and successful career in auto sales. In 2019 he was inducted into the Amarillo Motorsports Hall of fame.
Richard developed many friendships in his lifetime. One friend stated “Richard was always respectful and courteous. A true car guy and pure gentleman.” He and his family enjoyed many hours of boating and water activities on surrounding lakes. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing jokes on family and friends. Richard loved God, family, friends, country and was a man of strong and absolute faith.
Richard is survived by wife Clare Jean Boone. His three children Rick Collins (wife Jenny Collins), Joel Boone, Shawnna Ollivierre (husband Alfredo Ollivierre). Two grandchildren Skylar Clare Ollivierre and Karen Jesch. His sister Lola Ham (Husband David). Sister-in-law Karen Kohlenberg (husband Don), also Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral mass Thursday, August 6th at 10:00 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Bedford, Texas. Mask are required for those who attend.
