Mr. Richard Lee Caton, a beloved husband, father, veteran, and esteemed member of the community, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Keller, Texas. Born on August 22, 1940, in Marshfield, Oregon, Richard's legacy will forever remain within the hearts of those he touched. Having attended Marshfield High School, he dutifully entered the Air Force after graduation, dedicating 22 years to serving his country.
With gratitude for his service, his vibrant spirit will be missed by his devoted wife, Maria Caton, son Richard D Caton, daughter Angela Goonan, Aunt Phyllis Williams, sister Collen Stier and cherished grandchildren, Cristina Goonan, Travis Goonan, Nicholas Caton, Alexander Caton, and Masyn Ferrell. Richard's commitment to his family was unwavering, his love endless, and his presence a blessing to all who knew him.
A man of honor, Richard reached the rank of Master Sergeant during his Air Force tenure, embodying diligence and dedication in all his endeavors. His marriage to Maria Azcutia on December 15, 1962, marked the beginning of a lifetime of profound love and shared experiences. Throughout his professional career in the IT industry within the intelligence and insurance sectors, Richard exhibited exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment.
In recognition of his service and impact, funeral services and visitations have been arranged to commemorate and celebrate his life. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Lucas Funeral Home located at 1601 S. Main St in Keller, Texas on August 26, 2024, at 6:00 pm, where stories and memories will be shared. A full military honor committal ceremony will take place at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on September 5, 2024, at 1:15 pm, establishing an eternal resting place for a man of honor.
In reverence of Richard's compassion, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory, acknowledging his love for his mother and grandchild. His presence will be deeply missed, yet his memory will forever be upheld with respect and admiration, an enduring tribute to a remarkable man whose legacy prevails in the hearts of those who knew him.
