Jerome Davis, age 82, of Colleyville, peacefully passed away at home December 11, 2023. Jerome was born August 24, 1941, in Marshall, Texas, to Richard and Bertie Sue Davis.
He graduated from Marshall High School in 1959 and completed his Bachelor’s degree from Steven F. Austin in Nacogdoches. In 1962, he married Dee Tatum of Hamilton.
Music was a big part of his life. In junior high, Jerome auditioned for and was accepted to sing with the famed Apollo Boys Choir, based in Palm Beach, Florida. He worked at numerous radio stations as a disc jockey and later held anchor and reporter jobs at radio stations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He was honored to be inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2015.
Jerome was heavily involved in his church and community, served as a deacon, Bible Study teacher, and was active in the Lions Club.
Jerome loved to travel. He and Dee’s adventures took them to fifty of the United States and seven continents. They also treated each grandchild to trip of their choosing after their high school graduation.
Jerome is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dee; daughters Michelle Risenhoover (Kyle), and Camille Allison (Wayne); sister Affie Bruce (Dossie); beloved aunt Nell Hays; grandchildren Connor Risenhoover (Jessica), Carson Risenhoover, Christi Blanton (Jake), Cole Allison (Stephanie), Calli Smith (Colt); and great-grandchildren, Brooks Allison, Asher Smith, and Channing Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends.
Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Cross Church, NRH Campus, 6955 Blvd. 26 NRH 76180.
