Grapevine-- Richard Mack Ogle peacefully passed away after a sudden decline in his health on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Grapevine. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29,2024 at First Baptist Church of Grapevine. Interment: 2:00 pm Friday, May 3, 2024, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetary.

Richard was born on January 28, 1932, in Glendale, South Carolina to Sydney Monroe Ogle and Lois Simmons Ogle and was the youngest of 5 children. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base. During his time in the service, he met the love of his life, Virginia Daniel. They were married in 1954 and started their lives together in Virginia’s hometown of Oak Cliff, TX. Richard and Virginia had 2 children, Judy and Jana.
After the service, Richard began his career working for Allied Aviation at Love Field and then went to work at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. He retired from Allied Aviation after 43 years and spent much of his retirement as a beloved Crossing Guard for GCISD.
Richard leaves behind his daughter, Jana Ogle Hataway, his only granddaughter, Adrienne Prouty, and her husband, Jerry Prouty. Richard is also survived by his 4 great grandchildren, Parker, Gabriel, Myka and Scarlett. He leaves behind multiple relatives in South Carolina. He is also, survived by his longtime companion June O’Rear.
Visitation and service will be held at First Baptist Church in Grapevine on Monday April 29, 2024, starting at 10am. Burial will take place May 3, 2024, at 2pm, at the Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery.
