Richard Andrew Plockot of Hurst, TX passed away on August 28th at the age of 76 at home
with loved ones by his side. He courageously battled cancer for 1½ years.
Richard was born June 16th, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to his parents Lottie and Andrew Plockot and
was an only child. He graduated high school from Deer Park, HS in Deer Park Long Island, NY.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969. While stationed at Tinker AFB, he met his
wife of 56 yrs Carol LouAnn Hack. After serving in Vietnam and returning home, they resided in
Oklahoma and raised a daughter and a son. After the military, Richard sold insurance, then
became a truck driver for UPS where he drove for over 34 years, retiring in 2010.
Rick and Carol moved to Texas in 2015 to be closer to family. He enjoyed being with family,
watching OU and NY Giants football, Classic Movies, and listening and singing to 50's and 60's
rock and roll. In his retirement, he joined the Civil Air Patrol, was a Lifetime Member of the VFW
Post 8706 of Moore, OK, a member of the American Legion Post 655 of Haltom City, and a
Volunteer for the Patriot Guard Riders of NTX. He was also involved with Hurst CERT and Hurst
Amateur Radio Club.
He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Sherry and her husband Brian; son Scot and his wife
Julie; grandkids Alissa, Chase, Lauren, and Megan; and many friends.
Visitation services will be at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst on Tuesday, September 12th from 6-
8pm. Funeral services will be at Lucas Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 13th at 10am
with the burial service immediately following at 1:00pm at the Dallas National Cemetery. Our
