Richard "Ric" Alan Jacobs, Sr., 70, of Joshua, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Interment: Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, private.
Ric was born May 28, 1949 in Cleburne, TX to A.A Buster Jacobs and Bobbie Jacobs. He grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Paschal High School in 1967. Ric joined the Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam before being honorably discharged in 1970. He earned a Purple Heart during this time in the service. Ric spent his career working for Kroger and Skaggs Grocery Companies putting in 15 years of service for each company. He also owned a Pepperidge Farm Bread route before his stroke in 1996. Ric was a member of Nolan River Road Baptist Church in Cleburne and the Military Order of Purple Heart Burleson Chapter #1867. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike and best friend/assistance dog, Tank.
Survivors: Wife of 44 years, Nancy Jacobs; son, Alan Jacobs and wife, Amanda of Joshua, TX; daughter, Darlene Lausted and husband, Dan of Downing, WI; granddaughters, Eden and Jael, also of Downing, WI; sister, Caron Barber and husband, Bill of Cresson, TX; brothers, Randy Jacobs of Godley, TX, Ken Jacobs and wife, Chris of Duncanville, TX and several nephews and other relatives. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations be made in Ric's name to Wings of Hope Equitherapy in Cleburne at
