It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rita Madeline Rudolph, who departed this life peacefully on October 19, 2024, at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 30, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois. Rita was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother, known for her kind heart, radiant smile, and unwavering strength.
Rita grew up in a close-knit Italian family, her parents immigrated from Sicily to pursue the American dream of independence and business ownership. Rita met her husband an Airman in the USAF in the Southside of Chicago where they began their life journey that led her to Texas where she lived the rest her days in the HEB area. Rita was the mother of four children, Marita, Mary, Chuck and Stephan. She has nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren that she adored.
Rita was fiercely proud of her family, who were her greatest joy. She was a woman of faith, finding solace in her spiritual beliefs, and her strength in adversity was an inspiration to all. She was a breast cancer survivor; a lover of animals having had many pets that she found as strays, and she loved to travel.
In addition to being a pillar of strength for her family, Rita was inspirational, she continued to work as a security officer at the Carter Blood Bank right up until shortly after her 90th birthday, spending many years dedicated to her work and family. Rita has created a lasting legacy that will continue to impact the family for years to come.
Rita will be deeply missed by her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her nieces, nephews and a host of extended family members and friends who loved her dearly. Though her absence leaves an irreplaceable void, her memory and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Funeral services will be a private ceremony for the immediate family at the National Cemetery where Rita will be reunited with her husband Charles Michael Rudolph a Veteran of the United States Air Force. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to any animal rescue organization in her honor, as a reflection of her generous spirit.
