Doug was born in Winnfield, La to the late Hubert and Sally Bartley. He lived a little more than half of his life in Louisiana before moving his wife and kids to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Doug was a man of conviction and faith, blessed the name of the Lord, called Christ his savior, and did his best to outdo others in honor. He worked in the safety and environmental sector of the oil and gas industry, and founded his business, Bartley Air Integrity Resources (BAIR) in 1995. Doug maintained business relationships over several decades, and was honored to employ a host of family members and close friends. Before his illness, his partners and staff, averaging 25 years his younger, marveled at how Doug could and would gladly outwork them with diligence and excellence. Doug perpetually exhibited a spirit of jovial lightheartedness. He stewarded his time and possessions well, was steady in the ebbs and flows of life, never complained about hardships, and through the end of his life, ensured that a warm and comfortable disposition was extended to everyone he encountered.

Doug was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Kevin Bartley.
Survivors: His high school sweetheart, Faye Ledet Bartley; his three children and nine grandchildren, Rusty Bartley, his wife, April and kids, Brittaney, Aiden and Landen , Randy Bartley, his wife, Kristyn and kids, Banner, Piper and Phineas, and Bonnie Parker, her husband, Brandon and kids, James, Devin, and Maya; his older sister, Linda Harshman; his younger brothers, Ricky Bartley and Gary Bartley; and a multitude of loving extended family members and friends.
