Robert Lloyd "Bob" Betts of Grapevine, Texas returned to be with the Lord on September 30, 2022. He was 79 years old. Born in North Hollywood, California in 1942, the son of Lloyd Leroy Betts and Sonja Kathleen Betts grew up in California, Nevada and Oregon. Following high school he joined the Navy, where he served honorably from 1961-1972. The Naval aviator, Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient moved to Texas in 1965 where he met Linda Wilson. The two wed on July 30, 1966, were married for 56 years, and were blessed with four children - Victoria, Leanne, Jennifer and Travis. Bob was a man of many accomplishments and talents. He earned a Bachelor of Law degree from LaSalle University in 1972, practiced law and worked as an accountant. He was a lifetime member of the US Navy Tailhook Association and the Military Order of World Wars (MOWW). Bob also enjoyed a long association with the Confederate Air Force (now the Commemorative Air Force) where he participated in many airshows throughout the country. His family and friends will remember his outgoing, cheerful personality, his devotion to God, patriotism and pride in the United States of America, his ability to entertain guests and his willingness to drop everything to support family in need. Bob was preceded in death by his brother Richard and grandson Tyler. He is survived by his wife Linda, sister Sonja Betts Tuttle, stepsister Dianne Lind, his children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His visitation will take place on October 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine. The funeral will commence on October 8 at 11 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home before moving to his final resting place at Bluebonnet Hills in Colleyville.
