Robert "Bob" Joseph Terrian

April 12, 1949 — July 14, 2022

Dr. Robert “Bob” Joseph Terrian, aged 73, residing in Bedford, TX, passed away at home with family by his side on July 14, 2022, from complications of pneumonia and stomach cancer.

Bob, born on April 12, 1949, grew up in Saginaw, MI with his beloved mother, Josephine, and his three brothers. He joined the U.S. Army pre-high school graduation to fight in the Vietnam War—eventually being decorated with the Commendation Medal for his acts of heroism. He returned to the states to gain his G.E.D, attend college (the first of his family to do so) to earn a B.A. in Fine Arts at University of Illinois-Chicago Circle, and then attend Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine to earn his Doctor of Osteopathy degree. Bob continued his medical pursuits in Fort Worth, TX, becoming a much-adored family physician in Fort Worth, River Oaks, and, ultimately, Haltom City.

On April 9, 1993, he married Dr. Deborah “Debbie” D. Brown-Terrian in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, son, Robert “Bobby” J. Terrian, II, daughter, Veronika “Ronnie” Nicole Martin, and step-daughter, Heather Brown Grantland. Bob loved being “Grampa Doc” to his grandchildren: Carlos, Alexander, Isabella, Layla, Zoë, Camryn, and Courtney. He also leaves behind many loved ones near and far who have always held a place in his heart.

Bob enjoyed creating art, making jokes, collecting rocks from the shores of Lake Superior, and solving puzzles on Wheel of Fortune. He also loved to sing along with Elvis, watch classic Westerns, and wear his cowboy boots with his daily outfits, including shorts. He and Debbie loved visiting the Mexican Riveria and did so as often as they could before Bob’s illness took hold.

The legacy Bob leaves behind is one of determination, rebelliousness, and imagination—his whole life was because of his ability to imagine for himself a different future than the one familiar to his peers and he rebelled against what many limitedly thought of him to determine his reality as a doctor. Ultimately, he wanted to make a difference by helping others.

Bob’s family is holding a come-and-go memorial and viewing on Sunday, July 31, 2022, 2pm-4pm. The address is: Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, TX. At 3pm there will be an Honor Guard Detail. All are welcome to share their love and memories of Bob.

“Until we meet again, may God bless you as he has blessed me.” — Elvis Presley
