Robert Gene Carlson passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018.
Funeral: 9:00 am, Wednesday April, 4, 2018 at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Visitation: 5-7pm Tuesday March 3, at the funeral home. Interment: DFW National Cemetery.
Bob was born on September 29, 1938 to parents, Curtis and Evelyn Carlson in Valley Mills, Texas. He graduated from Pecos High School. Robert joined the United States Air Force in 1956 where he proudly served our Country for 4 years. He then went on to graduate from The University of Texas at Arlington with his bachelor’s degree. Robert worked and retired from General Dynamics, now Lockheed Martin, after several decades. He was very proud that he adopted his son, Scott for Father’s Day in 1991. Robert loved to garden, sweepstaking, and playing games. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Lynn Carlson; sister, Virginia Carlson; and nephew, Scott Carlson.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Debbie Dionne; son, Scott Carlson and wife, Kym; granddaughters, Marcelle Dionne, Nicole Dionne – whom he raised as his daughter, and Baylee Baker; brothers, Curtis Carlson Jr and wife, Kathy, and Jim Carlson and wife Dianne; sisters, Elaine Moody and husband Kinley, Marilyn Moody and husband, Jackson, and Jackie Venske and husband, Ken; and many other extended family and friends.
