Robert (Boo) James Chars, of North Richland Hills, TX passed away at UT Southwesten Medical Center in Dallas, TX. On October 17, 2022. He was born on June 12, 1947 to Johanna and Herbert Chars in Kewaunee, Wisconsin. He was married to the love of his life, Sandra Chars for 50 years before her passing in March of 2020.
After graduating from High School he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served 3 tours in Vietnam. He retired after serving 21 years and earning the rank of Master Sargent. He then went to work as a proud member of the Department of Public Safety with the DFW Airport, retiring after 23 years.
Boo loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was always looking for the next adventure he and Sandi could go on. He loved to play golf with the Boondoggles. He rode countless missions for with the Patriot Guard. He was a member of the Colleyville Lions Club, and American Legion of Haltom City. Boo will be remembered for his love of God, his family and friends. He had an amazing capacity for generosity and kindness and had a great laugh.
He is survived by his daughter, Daniele Loke and son-in-law Jeff Loke of North Richland Hills, son Jacob Smith and wife Anne Brown of Bedford, VA, grandson Cpl. James Loke and his wife Megan Loke of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, grandson Cpl. Robert Loke of Camp Pendleton, CA, Sister, Sharon Bishop of CA and brother Jerry Chars and his wife Jean of Wisconsin.
As one of his friends said, “Semper Fidelis Marine. Stand relieved. Will miss you brother.”
