Preceded in death by his mother: Mary Francis Gerard and father: Robert Arthur Darter; an older sister: Diane George; and a younger brother: Robert Timothy Darter.
Married the mother of his two boys, Pamela Rains on April 17, 1971 while stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs Colorado.
Survived by his older sister Barbara Nelson of Dallas TX; his son Robert Edward Darter and wife Lee of Cochran GA, his son Michael Lin Darter and wife Nerissa of Honey Grove TX; He had a host of grandkids, and great grandkids that all referred to him as Gpaw; many nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces. and many others that we have all taken in as family.
Robert Steven Darter was also awarded a bronze star, which was one of his most proud achievements. He was a true patriot and loved his country with a passion like no other.
He was loved and cherished by many friends from Mexico, Europe and the U.S.
