Robert "Bob" Moody Edwards

Robert “Bob” Moody Edwards, son of Ralph and Mattie Edwards was born in Three Rivers, Texas, on November 6, 1937. He graduated from Caddo Gap High School in Caddo Gap, Arkansas in 1955. He received a BS degree in Education from Henderson State Teachers College, Arkadelphia, Arkansas in 1958 and a Masters degree from Abilene Christian University, Abilene, Texas in 1970. In 1960 he began his teaching career in Borger Texas. In 1962, he moved his family to Abilene, Texas where he taught at Mann Junior High/Middle School for 38 years.
In 1957, he married his wife of 65 years, Wanda Lou Ward. They were blessed with three sons and one daughter. He was also known as Pawpaw to 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who he adored.
Bob, as many knew him, loved attending his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids ball games and performances. He and Wanda would often travel several hours to see a single event.
He was a dedicated teacher with high expectations, but he also had fun and was the grand champion of “sinkball”. He loved and impacted the lives of so many students. He always enjoyed finding out when he had the children of former students in his class.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters, his son Derek and daughter Dawn.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; and sons Darren Edwards and his wife Melinda, and Damon Edwards and his wife Alicia. His legacy can be seen through his grandchildren Jeffrey and his wife Lauren Edwards, Tom Edwards, Rebekah and her husband Jake Jacobson, Cole and his wife Ashley Edwards, Madison Edwards, Andrew Edwards, and Austin Edwards. His great grandchildren include Harrison Edwards, Carter Edwards, Holland Edwards, and Jamie Jacobson.
