Robert "Bob" Erxleben

Celebration of Life services for Robert (Bob) M. Erxleben, 83, of Lubbock will be held at Lucas Funeral Home 1321 Precinct Line Rd. Hurst, TX.76053. Visitation will be held Monday, Oct 21st from 6-8 pm. Funeral to be held Tues. Oct 22nd at 10 am. Mike Ireland of Searcy, Arkansas will officiate.
Interment with military honors will follow at DFW National Veterans cemetery at 1:15pm 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas TX. 75211.

Bob passed from this life on Tuesday, Oct 15th, 2019 to enter his heavenly home. He was born on Nov. 20th, 1935 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Edward & Eva Erxleben. Bob married his wife, Lanie on Dec. 28th, 1982. They were married 37 years and lived in Keller, TX for 35 years before moving to Lubbock in 2017. He served 20 years in the United States Marine Corp as a Gunnery Sergeant and served 3 trips to Vietnam. He worked at Gulf Stream Aerospace for many years and later, started his own Flammability testing lab and worked there until he was 81. He was loved by all who knew him due to his good humor and making the best out of any situation.

He is survived by his wife, Lanie; his 3 children: daughter Janie Medlin of Watertown, Tennessee; son Bobby Erxleben and wife Robin of Yuma, Arizona & daughter Robin Rawls & husband Randy of Lubbock, TX. 7 grandchildren who dearly loved their Popbob: Josh Medlin & wife, Abbie of Raleigh, NC; Sarah Medlin of El Paso; Rachel Reeves & husband, Nathan of Lebanon, TN; Michelle Erxleben of Tempe, AZ; Michael Erxleben & his wife, Cynthia of Yuma, AZ; Hunter Rawls & wife, Molly of Midland, TX. & Lexie Rawls of Abilene, TX. 3 great-grandchildren: Eli & Aiden Medlin and Marshall Reeves. Bob has one sister: Betty Erxleben Gasiorowski & husband, Frank from Watchung, New Jersey and one sister-in-law: Gwyneth Erxleben married to his late brother: Edward Erxleben of Little Rock, AR.

The family is requesting donations for memorials be sent to North Richland Hills Baptist Church via check to “Stronger Together Campaign”, 6955 Blvd 26 NRHills, TX. 76180 in lieu of flowers.
