Robert Joshua "Buck" Provence

Robert Joshua (Buck) Provence 88, went to be with his Savior in heaven on September 13, 2019. His service is on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller at 10:00am and will be buried in Saginaw Cemetery following the service.

Robert Joshua (Buck) Provence was born on November 16, 1930 in Rufe, Oklahoma to his parents Arthur and Ila Provence. He was the 9th of 10 children and was born on his mother’s birthday.

Buck came to Fort Worth, Texas when he was 20 years old to work for Swift’s & Company. After working for a few months, he went back to Oklahoma to get his fiancé Edwinna Whatley. They were married on November 19, 1951 in De Queen, Arkansas. Buck worked for Swift’s for 18 years along with cattle ranching and farming, which he would do full time upon leaving Swift’s in 1969.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mildred Burwell, Connie Reed, Stella Scarborough, Laro Myers, and Housten Roberts along with a brother Leslie Provence. Buck is survived by his wife, Edwinna, two sisters Patricia Renner, Bernice Collie, brother Hubert Arthur (Chuck) Provence, daughters Helen Trammell, husband Travis, Charlene Prescott, husband Les, and son Steve, wife Allison.

He loved all his 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
