Robert Donald Richardson

May 2, 1946 — December 27, 2016

Robert Donald Richardson passed away Tuesday December 27, 2016.

Robert was born May 2, 1946, in Lakeport, New Hampshire, to the late Norman Richardson and
Gladys Hendry. He was the oldest of four children and grew up mostly in Albuquerque, New
Mexico. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1964 and served for 8 years through the Vietnam war.
He was recognized with several honors while he was in the service, and his most memorable
experiences were when he was stationed in Japan. When we were kids we heard many stories
of his time in Japan and how he loved it. He was honorably discharged in San Diego, 1972.
While working in San Diego he would meet his future bride, best-friend, and mother of his
children Sharron. Sharron and Bob were married for 42 wonderful years, where they spent
almost every minute of every day together. They relocated to Fort Worth, Texas in 1976 where
they have lived and raised their family.

Bob was a hard worker who worked for the postal service for 35 years before retiring in 2013.
Bob always worked hard at home helping raise his 5 children to become good people with
caring hearts. Bob was a “hands on” father who would change diapers, help with houseworkexcept
for the laundry because he would turn everything pink. He would be outside mowing, or
changing the oil on the cars, or showing us how to play burn out. The weekends were even
busier with coaching teams, going to softball, basketball and soccer games. There was never a
time where he didn’t make it to a game, choir concert, drivers ed class, pitching lesson,
tournament, anything his children were involved in. Then when his children started having
children of their own nothing changed. He was still changing diapers, making bottles, making
lunches, and making every event that they were ever involved in. The grandkids always knew
he had a secret chocolate stash just for them, and he would always said yes to anything. Papa
as they called him was the most unselfish person on earth.

Papa we loved you, adored you, and will forever miss you. You are a part of us and we will
carry you with us until we see you again.
