Robert Franklin Vecchio J.D., born January 18, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio peacefully went to be with the Lord January 3, 2022 at the age of 81. Robert is survived by his beloved and cherished wife of 56 years, Susan Moore Vecchio; their three children Allen Vecchio, Patricia Steely (Wes), Joel Vecchio J.D (Meghan); six grandchildren, Noah, Audrey, Trevor, Benjamin, Elijah, and William; by his brothers John Vecchio J.D and Raymond Vecchio J.D; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Raised in East Cleveland, Robert developed a love for sports, especially golf and football. After high school Robert attended the University of Indiana where he played football as a Hoosier. Robert completed his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and moved to Texas to pursue a degree in law from The University of Houston. While pursuing his law degree, he met his loving wife, Susan Moore Vecchio. Robert and Susan eventually relocated their family to Arlington, Texas where he had a successful law practice for over 30 years. Robert was a stellar member of the community serving in many different capacities. Even though he lived in Texas, for most of his life, he remained a dedicated Cleveland Browns fan.
Robert and Susan retired in Las Colinas, Texas where he was able to continue enjoying playing golf and visiting their cabin in Northern New Mexico. Robert was a caring and loving father who provided a wonderful life for his family. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine Vecchio; his brother James Vecchio J.D.; and his sister Rosemary McAllister. Robert will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
