Robert Lewis Wentz Jr., died Oct. 26, 2017.
Service will be Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church , 941 Bedford-Euless Rd. Hurst, Tx, Rev. Morgan Hamilton officiating. Visitation Mon. Oct 30 6-8 p..m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst. Committal will follow the service at 1:30 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Pottsville, Tx. with Rev. Keith Reich officiating.
Lew was born April 7, 1932 in Ft. Worth, Tx to Anna Joyce Harkreider Middaugh and Robert Lewis Wentz,Sr. He grew up in Boswell, Ok and graduated from Boswell High School. Up until a few years ago, when his health failed him, he enjoyed returning to the high school reunions.
He eventually moved back to Ft. Worth and made his home there. He worked many years for Morrison Supply Co., Sam P. Wallace Co., and Trevino Mechanical as a pricing agent. It was at Morrison Supply that he met his wife of 42 years, Dortha Nell "Dottie" Gromatzky. They were long time members at Peace Church.
Lew was "one of a kind" with his humorous ways of joking and telling funny stories. Everyone that knew him remembers his sense of humor.
He really enjoyed cooking and up until a few weeks before his death enjoyed watching cooking shows.
He always looked forward to football season to watch his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Lew was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie and his parents.
Survivors include his sister Jayne Lauderback-Claxton and her husband, Vernon and two nieces, Debra and Kristin, of California. Also by many nieces and nephews in Texas and numerous friends.
