Robert William Wood, a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on April 25, 2025. He was passionate about life, laughter, and the people he loved.
Born on December 14, Robert lived in many places throughout his life, but most recently called the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex home. Robert is survived by his beloved daughter Amanda (Chris), brothers James (Karen) and Joe (Jeri), his loving mother June, and his two treasured grandchildren, Elyn and Madison, who were the lights of his life. Robert is now reunited in heaven with his father, J.W., whom he loved deeply and missed dearly.
Robert had a lifelong passion for sports, especially golf, football, basketball, and baseball. Many of his happiest days were spent on the golf course or cheering for his favorite teams. He also shared a deep love of music with his daughter and grandchildren, creating memories that will live on through every song they hear.
Those who knew Robert will remember his kind heart, fun-loving spirit, and his endless desire to give back. He was always involved with his family, staying close and connected no matter the distance. His quick wit, love of jokes, lively political discussions, and unwavering support for those around him made him truly unforgettable.
Robert’s life was full of laughter, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of family and friendship. His legacy of love and joy will live on in all who knew him.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on May 10, 2025, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 S. Main St., Keller, TX 76248. All who knew and loved Robert are welcome to join in honoring his memory.
In the spirit of Robert’s love for music, we remember him with one of his favorite lyrics:
“The sky is black as ink,
and I am lost on a dry and dusty road.
Oh God, I need a drink of cool, cool rain.
Love, reign o’er me.”
