Ronald Thomas Reinmiller

October 30, 1934 — July 16, 2024

Ronald Thomas Reinmiller,of Joshua, TX (formerly of Euless) went peacefully to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the age of 89.

Ron grew up on a farm in Nebraska and was active in 4-H. When he was 14 he won top awards with his sheep, Sparky. While in high school, Ron joined the ROTC. After graduating, he married his sweetheart, Vivian Vavra.

Ron was the first in his family to attend college, earning not only his bachelor’s degree but a Master of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska in Economics and Agriculture. He was a member of the Graduate Fellowship, Alpha Zeta & Gamma Sigma Delta honor societies, the Arnold Air Society, Corn Cob society and Honor Roll.

Joining the United States Air Force in 1957, Ron was active during the Cuban Missile Crisis. During his military career he was stationed at Carswell AFB in Ft. Worth, Texas and was Captain of the C-123, performing airlift operations throughout the continental US. He was a B-52 Aircrew Systems Operation instructor, normal and abnormal procedures controller, ground school instructor and flight instructor.

In 1965, Ron was honorably discharged from the Air Force and began working as a pilot for American Airlines. He was captain of the DC-10, B-727, and B-707. He flew domestic and international passenger flights throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. His combined flight hours with the USAF and American Airlines totaled approximately 14,824.

Ron’s interests included tinkering with cars and other machines - but he was the best at fixing the broken toys his grandchildren would bring to him. He served his family faithfully as a handyman by helping out wherever he could with a quiet sense of humor and he will always be remembered for his vast collection of tools.

Ron changed the spiritual trajectory of his entire family when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was about 50 years old. He was a member of Shady Grove Church in Grand Prairie, then Calvery Chapel in Haltom City and for a brief time attended Christ Chapel in Burleson, Texas.

Ron was preceeded in death by his two sons, John and Tom Reinmiller. He is survived by his beloved wife Vivian; daughter-in-law Sarah; grandchildren Megan, Rachel, Hannah, Samuel, Joseph, John, and David; great-grandchildren Ashley, Evaan, Arien, Titus, and Anson. Ron will be dearly missed until that glorious day when we are all called home.
