Ronald Ferner Sagerson

Ronald “Ron” Ferner Sagerson, age 73, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, in Keller, TX, after a battle with cancer.
Ron was born to Leo and Sarah Sagerson in Johnstown, PA, on July 7, 1941 and had two siblings, older sister, Miriam Sagerson Flynn, who still resides in Johnstown, and brother, Jim, deceased. Ron was married in Johnstown and had four children. He moved with his family from Johnstown after the famous 1977 Johnstown flood and, in 1980, settled in Keller, TX. Ron worked as a medical technician until his retirement in 2005.
Although Ron’s heart remained in Johnstown, PA, he stayed in Texas to be close to his children. He loved hockey, golf, “B” movies, and dogs. He had a wonderful sense of humor and easily made people laugh.
After his cancer diagnosis, Ron lived with his son, Steve, and daughter-in-law, Eve, where he was surrounded by dogs, his own beloved dog, Sweetie, and his five “grand dogs.”
Ron is survived by his sons, Steve and Lee, and Steve’s wife, Eve; his daughters, Erin and Ann; his sister, Miriam; his nieces, Mary and Sally; and nephews, Danny and Jeff.
In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family requests that donations be made in his name to a cause near and dear to his heart, the welfare of homeless animals. Donations can be made to animal welfare organization, Best Friends.org, or an organization of your choice.
The family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate Ron’s life.
