Ronnie Woods, age 72, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 with his family be his side.
Ronnie is survived by Verona who was the love of his life, his best friend and his Wife of 52 years. He leaves behind his son Glen and his wife, Tonya Woods and his daughter Ronda and her husband, Bill Majure. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren who adored and loved him: Ethan, Cameron, Jack, Alana, Britton and Levi. He is preceded in death by his parents James Monroe Woods and Mildred Sullivan Woods; his brother Dennis Woods.
Ronnie grew up in Fort Worth and lived in Southlake,Texas. He was a successful, local business owner of Couch's Grocery. Once his children graduated from Carrol High School and were off to college, he and Verona closed the business to live full time at their beloved ranch in Alvord, TX. The ranch was a happy place for Ronnie and Verona. No matter what difficult times they were going through, the ranch was a source of peace and a reminder of God’s goodness.
Ronnie loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling the world and learning about other cultures. He took great pride in passing that same appreciation on to his children. Ronnie lived life- he loved the beach, restoring antique cars, riding horses and team penning. Above all, what he loved most and made him swell with pride was spending time with his grandchildren. Every moment he spent with them, was precious to him.
Ronnie had an understanding, a kindness and a tolerance that was the envy of many. He never met a stranger. He never passed judgement on others or the decisions they made. He was truly a light that shined. He believed that no matter what you were going through, good or bad, our mission in life is to be happy, shine a light and make a path for others. His motto was "it don't get better than this". As he passed through the pearly gates, there is no doubt that he was going to a better place and it wouldn't get any better than this!
