Rosa Mae Filbert Day, 83 years of age, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Watauga, Texas. Rosa was born March 14, 1938 in Donna, Texas to the late Jacob A. and Estella H. Filbert. She was the youngest of four children, all of whom preceded her in death. She attended Southwestern Bible College, and later married the late Jimmy Day, Sr. in 1958 and two children were born from this union. Rosa professed her life to Christ at an early age and used her God given gift playing the organ and piano in the church her father pastored, Northside Assembly of God. Over the years, Rosa also played the accordion and vibraharp, as well as any other instruments she picked up along the way.
Rosa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and caregiver to many family members. She also was an accomplished business woman in real estate, interior decorating/design, later studying cosmetology and owning two hair salons. Rosa had many hobbies over the years, and she loved to cook, but her favorite hobby was flying her airplanes at every opportunity. Rosa loved the holidays, reunions, and any other opportunity to gather with family to share a fabulous meal and making lasting memories.
Rosa leaves her loving memory to her children, Jimmy Day, Jr and Kimberly Day, 2 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
