Roy Dwain Bevers

August 15, 1935 — January 31, 2021

Roy Dwain Bevers was born on August 15, 1935 in Cooke County, Texas to Mary Gertrude Isbell Bevers and Painter Shiloh Bevers. Roy passed away on Janaury 31, 2021 at 85 years old. Roy grew up in Cooke County with his mom, dad and older brother Olen Spencer Bevers on the family farm founded in 1883. He attended Pilot Point High School, then graduated from University of North Texas where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He met his future wife, Annetta LaCene Wing in Denton ,Texas. Upon graduation, Roy joined the United States Marine Corps, then he and Annetta were married. Roy began a 34 year career with IBM residing in Dallas,Texas and Lexington, KY before settling in Ft Worth. Upon retiring, he founded and was President of Alpha 3R for 5 years. Roy had many interests, they all involved helping others. He developed the soccer program for Blue Raider Youth Sports. He enjoyed coaching soccer, baseball and watching sports his entire life. Roy was Assitant Scout Master Troop 600 and later in life he was active in Thousand Trails of Texas Motor Coach Association, and he enjoyed his time volunterring at the Salvation Army. The world lost a generous loving man today. His hard work ethic started at an early age working on his family farm and working vaious jobs to put himself through college. Roy worked hard to be a good provider, showed his children what hard work and dedication meant while focused on a prosperours future for the betterment of generations to come. Roy enjoyed his time with his wife of 62 years, traveling in their motor home, activities with his grand children, boating on Lake Ray Roberts and gardening at his family farm. Anyone that knew Roy knew he lived life with a fun loving spirit, never met a stranger and loved telling jokes! He was preceded in death by his father, Painter Shiloh Bevers; mother, Mary Gertrude Isbell Bevers; brother, Olen Spencer Bevers.
He is survived by his wife, Annetta LaCene Bevers; son, Elliott Charles Bevers; daughter, Lauren LaCene Green; Son-in-Law, Charles Ray Green; granddaughter, Meredith Kathryn Bevers; grandson, Matthew Charles Bevers; and beloved pug, "Deucey"

A Private memorial to be scheduled for future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made Community Hospice of Texas - James L West Center Fort Worth or Salvation Army.
